How To Apply Cheat Codes in ePSXE Emulator Android for PlayStation [PS1/PSX] Games

Welcome Gamers! If you’re looking to emulate PlayStation [PS1/PSX] games on your Android device, ePSXE is one of the best options available. The PlayStation, released in 1994, has many classic titles still cherished by gamers. I never owned a PS1, but discovering that I could play these games on my Android phone was a game-changer.

Best PS1 Emulators for Android

There are two main PS1 emulators for Android: FPSE and ePSXE. For older smartphones (Android 2.3 – 4.3), FPSE is recommended. However, for devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop to 6.0 Marshmallow, ePSXE is the better option due to its compatibility with octa-core processors, providing a smoother gaming experience.

I prefer ePSXE because it’s user-friendly and can automatically download cheats for games. You can apply ePSXE Android cheats during gameplay for immediate effect, unlike some other emulators.

Using Cheats in ePSXE

To demonstrate how to use cheats, I'll use Tekken 3 as an example.

1. Launch the Game: Start any game in ePSXE.

2. Access Cheat Codes: Tap the menu or back button to access options, then tap ‘Cheat Codes’. A popup will state ‘No cheat codes found for game’.

   

3. Download Cheat Codes: Tap ‘Download’ and wait until you see “Cheat Codes downloaded”.

4. Apply Cheats: Go back to the ‘Cheat Codes’ option to see the complete list. Check the boxes for the cheats you want, then tap ‘Apply’.

   

   
   

Recommended Cheats for Tekken 3

• Infinite Health P1: Your player’s health will be infinite.
• Absolutely Everything Unlocked: Unlocks everything in Tekken 3, including 'Theater Mode' and 'Tekken Ball Mode'.
• Infinite Supercharge: Defeat your opponent with one hit.

Creating a Cheat File for ePSXE Android

If downloading cheats doesn’t work, you can manually create a cheat file:

1. Format: Use the format below:

   #Description
   300A961E 008C
   

   The first line is the description, and the second is the cheat code.

2. Save the File: Save this file as a .txt file.

   #Infinite Health
   800A9C98 2400

4. Naming the Cheat File: Name the file using the game's region code, replacing hyphens with underscores and placing a dot after the first three digits. For Tekken 3 (SLUS-00402), name the file ‘SLUS_004.02.txt’.

5. Place the File: Save the file in ‘Internal Storage>ePSXE>Cheats’. Open the game and enjoy your cheats.
